So, NaNoWriMo is coming up quickly! (In just a few hours, here!)
For this year’s NaNoWriMo, I will be writing my current Historical Military Fiction novel, Roma Invicta (working title). As you can probably guess, it will be set in Rome, more specifically during the Gallic and Caesar’s Civil War period, roughly from 58 BC to 45 BC.
As part of the Patreon patron tier, I will be posting sections of the novel each Sunday. On Tuesdays, I will also post a public blog entry about some facet of Roman history during that time period. When feasible, I will link it to something covered in the previous Sunday’s WIP posting, especially if I find it particularly fascinating or helpful in explaining what’s going on in that post.
For the unaware, NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) is, essentially, a month-long sprint to put down 50,000 or more new words into a novel. There are a lot of awesome people there who can answer questions, provide support, and point out resources (some on the site itself, others that are not) to help the novelist get over that 50,000 word mark.
I wrote the bulk of my novel Universus Respondet during NaNoWriMo 2015. This will be my fourth time starting it, and hopefully my second time “winning” it!
So, keep an eye out here and on Patreon for new posts (especially to the Patron-only content)!
